The Asscher cut diamond rings are the most widely recognized vintage styles in the world. This classy, timeless cut has four cropped corners that make the diamond resemble a flat table. While not as popular these days, there are still many people who appreciate the old fashioned designs of the Art Deco period. In 2001, the vintage Asscher cut diamond rings were redesigned due to too many counterfeits in distributions. Many jewelers were trying to sell counterfeits of the original, vintage designs, thus the Asscher cut diamond had to be re-patented. If you want something more modern, you’ll be glad to know that the new Asscher cut diamond ring design features 16 additional facets. All of these extra facets increase the clarity and sparkle of the diamond.

With the Asscher cut diamond ring, similarly to the step cut, more depth of the diamond can be seen. This means that precise cutting is extremely important. One tiny flaw will be highly noticeable. Color is also a vital consideration, because it can be visible at the wide corners. Thus, you need to take special care in choosing and buying an Asscher cut diamond ring. If the cut of a colorless diamond is flawless, the ring will look extremely beautiful! Older pieces, unfortunately, don’t sparkle as much as a newer piece since advanced cutting technology wasn’t around in the early 20th century. If you do want a vintage Asscher cut diamond ring, you need to be extremely careful in your pursuit of a suitable piece, since it will be a challenge to find. If sparkle is your main concern, then your best bet is to go with a modern ring from King of Jewelry‘s lovely collection. The increase in facets and the advanced cutting technique enhance the beauty of the Asscher cut diamond ring.
